Chili Brick® can now be found in the frozen meat department at all 325 Vons stores across Southern California, from Central California to the Mexican Border. Although the Chili Brick® has been sold at a limited number of Vons stores for the past 25 years, shoppers have had difficulty finding the famous Chili Brick® in all Vons locations. After years of customer requests, the decision was made to carry the Chili Bricks® throughout the entire chain.
"We've enjoyed working with select Vons stores for years, but now it's in all of them across Southern California," said Dolores Chili's president, David Munoz. "Consumers throughout the southland have called and asked why they couldn't find the Chili Bricks® in their local Vons store. Now we can direct them to any Vons store location. We're excited and we look forward to working closer with Vons."
Dolores Canning Co., the manufacturer of the Chili Brick®, expects to begin sampling programs within the next week at several Vons stores. Dolores employees will present recipes and sample prepared Chili Brick®, demonstrating ways to use the versatile product.

"Free Cup of Chili Day." Let's look at those five words, briefly. They're all really good words. "Day" is probably our favorite of the bunch, but close seconds are "Free" and "Chili," too.
"Cup" and "of"? You're not bad at all. "Of," you help us out a lot. Of course.
In short, there's nothing not to like about the Dolores Chili event going on at Philippe on Tuesday, Jan. 18. Dolores, of course -- oh, there's that "of" again -- has been here in Los Angeles and making all sorts of delicious edibles for over half a century.
And Philippe the Original? Yeah. They're famous for something. Think, think. Well, we'd say the bright pink eggs in the big jar on the counter, but everyone from here to Antarctica knows the French Dips. And that hot-hot mustard. And that the restaurant is well over a century old.
So, there are a couple of major to-knows about Free Cup of Chili Day. One, you get the free cup with the purchase of a sandwich. You'll want to buy a sandwich, anyway, right? You'll be at Philippe's.
And two, the event starts at 11 a.m. on Jan. 18, and the first 500 people will get a voucher for that free cup.
If you're a chili fanatic, and a Philippe's fan, and you'll be in the area, you'll want to join the queue early on, we imagine. Would some of that mustard be good on the chili, we wonder? Oh yeah.
By the way, two other words we love are "Chili Brick®." Read more at the Dolores site.
Update: This is a cup, not a bowl. Yum!

Recipe for success: Dolores Canning Co. expands distribution
If the Chili Brick® is anything - it's versatile.
Just ask David Munoz, president of Los Angeles-based Dolores Canning Co. Inc., which produces the concentrated chili mix.
"Brick chili is a term, so we call ours the chili brick®," the San Gabriel Valley resident said. "It's packed into a brick shape and it's concentrated, so you have to add water. Some take the mix and put a can of beans in there, and others use it for chili fries. You have so many different uses for this, and it doesn't have any soy or fillers and preservatives." read more... | download .pdfIf the Dolores Chili Brick is anything - it's versatile.
