Dolores Canning Co. is a Los Angeles based firm specializing in quality Mexican food products. Originally founded in 1954 as a distributor of Beef & Pork products and canned Menudo, we have since expanded our product line to include other traditional Mexican specialty food products, ethnic favorites such as Pickled Pork products, and of course our famous Dolores Chili Brick, available in Original Beef, Chicken and Vegetarian flavors. We currently manufacture these products and others, under the Dolores label. Our products are sold throughout major grocery outlets and countless independents and food distributors throughout the United States. Additionally, we produce a wide range of private label products due to our varied production capacity.

Dolores Canning has a strong reputation for compliance and cooperation with the USDA and is considered one of the top firms in its local circuit of inspection. Additionally, Dolores Canning conducts annual 3rd Party Audits for Food Safety. Audit results are available upon request.

AUGUSTINE L. MUÑOZ
1942-1998
Co-Founder
As one of the founders of Dolores Canning Co., Inc., Augustine Muñoz was a driving force in building Dolores Canning Co. into what it is today. Augustine “Augie” was known to many in the industry and in local political circles. Augie was a generous supporter of local law enforcement, including the California Highway Patrol. Along with his brothers Steve and Frank, Augie led the company for nearly 40 years. Sadly Augie was diagnosed with a rare form of Pancreatic Cancer in April 1998 and lost his brief battle after only 5 weeks.
Following Augie’s passing, a non-profit organization was founded to provide research funds in Augie’s name. The Augustine L. Muñoz Cancer Research Fund hosted the annual Augie Muñoz Memorial Golf Tournament for almost 30 years. Proceeds were donated in Augie’s name to the USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center in Los Angeles. Over $350,000 has been donated to provide doctors and researchers valuable tools to find early methods of detection for Pancreatic Cancer. For more information about the work The Augustine L.
