Official Rules:
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS CONTEST. A PURCHASE WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. This contest is sponsored by Dolores Canning Co. Inc. 1020 North Eastern Avenue Los Angeles, CA 90063 (“Sponsor”).
By participating in this contest, you fully and unconditionally agree to and accept these Official Rules which are final and binding in all matters related to this contest.
ELIGIBILITY: The contest is only open to individuals who are legal residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia, who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees, contractors, distributors and the immediate family members of Sponsor, or those living in the same household of each such individual, are NOT eligible.
ENTRY PERIOD: The contest begins May 19, 2012 and ends June 30, 2012. After the deadline day of June 30th 11:59pm PT, the contest will be closed to further submissions. Mailed submissions must be received at Sponsor’s place of business prior to such deadline.

Sponsor is not responsible for submissions that are not delivered/received for any reason. LIMIT ONE ENTRY PER PERSON PER CATEGORY.
Your entry must meet the following requirements in order to be considered eligible:
- Your entry must include your first and last name, mailing address, e-mail address and confirmation that you have read and agree to these official rules.
- You must provide the details of your proposed recipe including the Dolores chili recipe, ingredients, bowl/plate/display, instructions and the inspiration behind your chili recipe.
- Recipes must include Dolores Chili. Remaining ingredients are up to the discretion of the contestant, however they should be readily available. (Easy to find at local grocery or retail stores).
- All recipes must be original and created by the person who submits it. Variations on classic or common recipes will be accepted.
- Photographs of the final chili recipe submitted are required.
Sponsor reserves the right to deem void and disqualify any entry for any reason, in its sole and absolute discretion, and without notice. If there are any questions about your recipe submission we will contact you via email.
SELECTION OF WINNERS; JUDGING CRITERIA: Three (3) total winners will be selected on July 1, 2012, one for each category: Spicy Chili, Chili Dog and Chicken Chili. Recipes will be judged on flavor, creativity, appearance and how well they showcase Dolores Chili. All entries will be reviewed by a Dolores Canning Co., Inc selection committee and must be received no later than June 30, 2012. The contest is open to all levels of expertise from beginning home cooks to professionals and all will be judged fairly with no consideration of skill level.
PRIZES: Three (3) prizes will be awarded – one first, second and third place winner for the best Dolores Chili Recipe. Each winner will be featured in our “Recipes page” (online), featured on our Facebook Page www.facebook.com/chilibrick and will receive one of the following prizes:
- First place winner – 1 case of Dolores Chili, Dolores Chili goodies, plus $200 cash
- Second place winner –1 case of Dolores Chili, Dolores Chili goodies, plus $75 cash
- Third place winner –1 case of Dolores Chili plus Dolores Chili goodies
No transfer or substitution of a prize by a winner shall be allowed. The total prize package may not be redeemed for cash. The prize package is nonchangeable once redeemed. All federal, state, and local taxes on any prize are the sole responsibility of the prize winner. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
CLAIMING PRIZE: On the week of July 2, 2012, the three (3) winners will be notified either by mail or e-mail, at Sponsor’s discretion, and will be instructed on how to claim the prize. If a winner cannot be contacted or fails to claim his/her prize within five (5) calendar days of notification, or if a prize is returned as undeliverable (other than due to an error attributable to Sponsor), or if a winner fails to comply with any of the provisions of these Official Rules, such winner will be considered to have forfeited the prize, in which case Sponsor may award the prize to an alternate winner, using the same judging criteria stated above.
CONDITIONS: By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges, which shall be final, and waive any right to claim ambiguity in the Contest or these Official Rules. All entries, and the information contained in such entries, will become the sole property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. Each entrant agrees and consents to Sponsor’s collection, use and retention of the personal information provided in his/her entry for all purposes related to this contest. Personal information submitted by entrants will be subject to Sponsor’s Privacy Policy located at www.dolorescanning.com.
In consideration of the opportunity to participate in this contest, entrants irrevocably grant to Sponsor, its affiliates, subsidiaries, and agencies, and their respective successors and assigns (the “Sponsor Entities”) the non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, assignable, transferable and sublicensable rights to use, reproduce, display, exhibit, publish, distribute, modify, adapt, create derivative works based upon, and otherwise exploit the recipes and photographs submitted in this contest, in whole or in part, in all media now known or hereafter devised, for all purposes of this contest, as well as for all general marketing, advertising, promotional, merchandising, and other businesses of Sponsor Entities without notice or compensation to you. Acceptance of a prize will constitute permission for Sponsor to use names, cities, states, likenesses, and voices of the winners for advertising and promotional purposes, without any notice or further compensation, unless prohibited by law.
The Sponsor Entities shall not be liable for claims, losses, liabilities, expenses or injuries of any kind resulting in any way from contestant participation in the contest, including but not limited to the use of the prize, any delayed, lost, misdirected, or damaged entries, or any computer, online service, communications or other technical malfunctions that may occur. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to modify, cancel or suspend this contest or to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communication line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. In addition, Sponsor reserves the right to take down and remove any entry that becomes subject to a third-party claim for copyright infringement or for violation of any other right.
APPLICABLE LAW: These Official Rules shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California and the laws of the United States of America, as applicable herein, without reference to its conflicts of laws principles.
